Back for a third year to launch the Aston Martin F1 car - The AMR24
The narrative illustrates the coming together of the team, fans and drivers into a mindset they call ‘Hyper focus’. Everyone who is behind the car sharing a single vision and end goal - to build and achieve greatness.
The floating shards of laser light were all shot in camera with a technique I developed with lighting director Matt Button. This unique effect was created by adjusting the shutter of the camera and the variable draw / scan rate of lasers. For the shards to travel horizontally across the frame the camera was also positioned on its side.
The technique provided precise control over the light moving slowly through the space before the shards converged into a single laser beam which then brought the car to life.
We shot it all for real on location in the pit lane garages at the Silverstone race circuit in the UK. The final car was added in post.
